edp Vissla Pro Ericeira – WSL Challenger Series
In October 2022, the World Surf League Challenger Series event took place in Ericeira. The Challenger Series is the launchpad to the elite Championship Tour, pitting established surfers fighting to stay on tour against the next generation of premium talent. Across the international events, the fields of 96 men and 64 women battle for one of the 10 men’s and 5 women’s coveted spots at the top level of the sport.
The surfers Leonardo Fioravanti from Italy and Macy Jane Callaghan from Australia won at this event. Pictures of this series, in addition, include photos of the athletes Rio Waida from Indonesia, who at this event qualified as the first Indonesian surfer ever in history for the 2023 World Championship Tour, Kanoa Igarashi from Japan/Hawaii, Edgard Groggia from Brazil, Morgan Cibillic from Australia, Eithan Osborne and Nolan Rapoza from the U.S., Carlos Munoz from Costa Rica.
